Hmmmm..I wonder what he is really thinking?
Did you know that paying attention to simple body language cues can go a long way in dating?
You can use these clues to figure out how your partner feels. Or, if you are trying to send a message to your partner, you can make sure that your actions send the right signals.
There are very simple body language cues that can show you how receptive your partner is or if you should wait until they are in a better mood. Is he or she saying stay and snuggle, or cut and run? These little signals are very important for love and romance, because the part of our brain that manages the limbic system – which sends these signals – is also responsible for our feelings of love.
So, what are the signals to look for and which should give you pause? Let’s go through them…
Positive body language includes:
- Your partner moving physically closer to you
- Leaning in towards you
- Feet pointing towards you
- Legs uncrossed and comfortable
- Arms open and palms up,
- Playfully fondling jewelry or hair,
- Smiling
- Extended eye contact
- Looking down shyly.
Negative body language includes:
- Your partner moving away from you, creating space between you two
- Leaning away from you,
- Feet pointed away from you
- Legs crossed and stiff
- Arms crossed
- Palms down, closed hands,
- Itching eyes
- Scratching nose
- Rubbing back of neck,
- Frowning
- Grimacing
- Turning the eyes away to the side
What other nonverbal signals have you seen that tell you what your partner is feeling? Have you ever read the body language of your partner?
